Choosing a transducer. Transom-mount transducers suit most trailer boats and are the easiest to fit. Thru-hull transducers give the best performance at speed and in deep water, and are usually installed when the boat is out of the water. In-hull transducers shoot through the hull, so there's no hole to drill. For deep water and offshore fishing, 1kW and 2–3kW CHIRP transducers give clearer returns at depth.

For imaging, choose Lowrance and Simrad Active Imaging 3-in-1, StructureScan HD and StructureScan 3D transducers for detailed down and side views. For live sonar, Lowrance ActiveTarget 2 shows fish moving in real time. We also stock Simrad S5100 and S3100H sonar modules to add high-performance CHIRP to a networked system.
