Shimano Stella SW 10000PGD Spinning Reel & Game Type J S566 5'6" PE6 Jigging Rod Combo with Ocea EX8 PE5 Braid
A complete heavy jigging setup built around Shimano’s flagship Stella SW. The new 2026 PGD model is paired with a short, powerful Game Type J jig rod and Ocea EX8 eight-strand PE braid, ready for deep-water jigging and big saltwater fish.
Key Features:
New 2026 Stella SW PGD: Shimano’s number one premium spin reel, tested in Japan and overseas. The PG gearing is geared for jigging applications.
Hagane Body, Hagane Gear & X Ship: A rigid metal body, strong forged gearing, and a supported pinion keep power transfer smooth and consistent when a big fish loads the reel.
Infinity Drive, Infinity Cross & Silent Drive: Improve winding torque and smoothness, and add gear strength and durability for repeated heavy fights.
Heatsink Drag & XXTough Drag: Improved drag capability for dependable stopping power, with the larger diameter drag knob giving refined control.
Infinity Loop & Anti-Twist Fin: Infinity Loop improves castability, and the Anti-Twist Fin helps prevent line trouble.
X Shield & X Protect: Waterproofing protects the reel’s internals from the saltwater environment, and this year’s model adds an upgraded waterproof seal on the handle knob.
Spiral X Core & Hi-Power X Rod Blank: The Game Type J S566 uses Shimano’s most advanced blank technology, built with Nano Alloy for up to two and a half times greater strength and improved flexibility, in a lighter rod.
5'6" One-Piece Jig Spin Rod: A short, stout JDM-style jigging rod rated to PE6 and jigs up to 300g, with a separate EVA grip for a solid hold while working the jig.
Ocea EX8 PE5 Braid: Eight strands of high-quality Dyneema fibres woven with Shimano’s tuff cross construction make a thin, silky multicolour line with less than 1% elongation. It transmits every touch at the jig and lets you fish deeper and in stronger current. Made in Japan.

Common Applications:
- Heavy jigging for kingfish and other big pelagics
- Deep-water jigging over reefs, pinnacles, and structure
- Heavy offshore spinning from boats
- Targeting large, hard-fighting saltwater species where drag power and reel durability matter
- Anglers who want a matched, ready-to-fish premium jigging outfit
Why It Works:
Heavy jigging punishes gear, and each part of this combo is built for it. The Stella SW’s rigid body, strong gearing, and sealed construction stay smooth through repeated hard fights, and the 25kg drag has the stopping power for big fish. The Game Type J rod is short and strong for working heavy jigs all day and for fighting fish close to the boat, and the Ocea EX8 braid has very little stretch, so you feel every touch at the jig.
