Daiwa BG 6500 Spinning Reel & 26 Sealine S80-6/8 Offshore Spin Rod Combo with J-Braid X4 80lb
A heavy-duty offshore spinning combo. Daiwa’s legendary BG spinning reel is matched with a heavy-action 8'0" Sealine rod and high-visibility J-Braid X4, all ready for bluewater fishing.
Key Features
Aluminium Body & Side Plate: The BG’s precision-machined, highly corrosion-resistant body is rigid, strong, and durable. It allows seamless gear function and prevents twisting under load, which gives greater cranking force.
Digigear System: A high-precision cutting technique achieves perfect gear meshing and ultra smooth performance, so you get the full strength benefit of the BG’s body.
ATD Drag: Structural changes to the spool metal support the spool along the full length of the main shaft. This reduces spool twist under load, promotes more even wear of the drag washers, and reduces drag pulsing when fighting a fish.
Improved Drag Grease: Low viscosity at rest but more viscous right after drag startup, which reduces startup inertia for a smoother drag from the first run.
Air Rotor: A super strong, light rotor that disperses pressure across the lower section, dramatically decreasing weight, stress, and flexing while massively increasing strength.
26 Sealine Rod Built for NZ Offshore Fishing: Robust graphite composite blanks give an excellent balance of strength, lifting power, and durability. The heavy action and regular taper are developed for demanding offshore conditions.
EVA Grips & Quality Guides: Comfortable EVA grips hold securely in wet conditions, and quality guides give smooth line flow and dependable performance in harsh saltwater.
Two-Piece Rod: An 8'0" blank in two sections for easier transport and storage.
J-Braid X4 (Made in Japan): Soft, supple, and strong, suited to spin and baitcaster reels. Chartreuse gives super high visibility, handy for watching your line while casting lures.

Why It Works
Offshore gear has to cope with heavy fish and hard use, and this combo is built for that. The BG reel’s strong aluminium body, smooth Digigear drive, and 15kg drag handle serious fish, and its 400m of PE6 capacity gives plenty of line for long runs. The heavy-action Sealine rod has the backbone for lifting and fighting fish and handles casting weights up to 180g, and the EVA grip stays secure in wet conditions. The chartreuse J-Braid is easy to see, which helps when you’re casting.
