The Rod: Daiwa Saltist Game Bb6/10-Nz Rod Bent Butt Pe6-10
World-Class Componentry. Heavy-Metal Power. No Over-Priced Hype.
When you're out past the shelf targeting NZ’s legendary big game species—from freight-train kingfish to massive striped marlin and tuna—your gear is the only thing standing between glory and heartbreak. The all-new Saltist Game Rod was designed specifically for Kiwi blue-water fishermen who demand elite-tier performance without the bloated price tag.
We haven't cheaped out on a single detail. Built on a foundation of raw power and fitted with the absolute best componentry in the business, the Saltist Game stays fiercely true to its core values: high performance, serious durability, and unmatched value.
Parabolic Composite Blank (The Shock Absorber):
Engineered specifically to handle the unforgiving nature of modern hollow-core braided lines. The powerful, parabolic action bends deep into the blank, acting as a massive shock absorber. This keeps maximum, relentless pressure on the fish—not on your lower back.
Fuji SiC Guides (Non-Negotiable Performance):
Fast, hard-running pelagics generate insane friction. The Silicon Carbide (SiC) guides deliver industry-leading heat dissipation, drastically reducing line wear and ensuring you stay securely connected when the drag is screaming and it matters most.
Premium AFTCO Roller Tip:
Widely recognized as the gold standard for big game fishing. The AFTCO roller tip is built to function flawlessly under extreme, crushing loads, eliminating line friction at the rod's highest stress point.
Built to Last:
Every component is selected to survive the harsh salt spray, heavy boat rod holders, and brutal, hours-long battles that define New Zealand's big game scene.
