The new range of SALTIGA Tournament Game rods offer some never-before-seen components into a production light tackle game rod.

The most noticeable feature of the new SALTIGA Tournament rods is the Winthrop Epic straight butt, the lightest straight butt on the market. Winthrop has partnered with Daiwa to create a longer gimbal insert to accommodate the desires of top Australian game anglers who helped with the development of this series.

The blanks are constructed from Daiwa's HVF Nanoplus graphite making the rods lightweight and responsive for best lure performance. Fuji Stainless Steel silicon carbide (SiC) guides make sure even the lightest of top shots are provided smooth and stable line flow through the guides.

Available in three actions catering to the light-tackle game market throughout New Zealand and also heavier fishing action, the new SALTIGA Tournament rods are the perfect match to the SALTIGA Lever Drag reels and will be a welcome addition to many offshore anglers' arsenals.

Technologies:

3DX

3DX supports the lower power section of the rod by knitting densely packed carbon fibers in 3 directions to achieve a six wrap rectangular weave. Power through the blank under load is distributed evenly in all directions allowing it to maintain its profile and form. This process confines the rod’s power to the lower section of the rod, increases power, eliminates blank twist and collapse, all the while reducing angler fatigue.

Fuji Sic Ring

SiC has been the gold standard of guide ring material for over 20 years. Super hard, light, and highly polished and smooth, SiC guides are an excellent dissipater of heat making them ideal for light drags and/or big fish

Fuji Stainlees Steel Guides

Light, strong, and highly corrosion resistant, Fuji stainless steel guides are tailor-made for harsh conditions.

Hvf Nanoplus

Through the use of nano resin control technology in the blank construction process, Nanoplus allows for increased graphite density to be achieved within a graphite rod blank.

X45

Developed to eliminate blank twist and increase power, X45 features a Bias Wrap Construction, left/right 45 degree carbon weave within the blank. X45 radically improves rod strength and durability by eliminating twist and preventing the blank from losing its round form. The elimination of this twist allows for a lighter, stronger and more powerful and sensitive rod.

Winthrop Butt

Winthrop Butts are the pinnicle of game rod hardware and are manufactured to the highest possible standard.
