HYPERDRIVE DESIGN

Daiwa’s next-generation overhead/baitcasting reel design concept, engineered to improve power, durability, efficiency and smooth performance under heavy loads. It incorporates four key technologies: Hyperdrive Digigear, Hyper Double Support, Hyper Armed Housing and Hyper Tough Clutch.

HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR

A precision-engineered gear system featuring larger, stronger gear teeth. Designed to provide increased gear strength, smooth rotation and powerful, efficient winding while maintaining performance over extended use.

HYPER DOUBLE SUPPORT

Supports the pinion gear at both ends with ball bearings, providing more efficient and even power transmission from the handle. The pinion gear surface is also specially treated to help protect against electrostatic corrosion.

HYPER ARMED HOUSING

A rigid metal housing designed to resist distortion and securely support the reel's gearing. This helps maintain precise alignment of the internal components under heavy loads.

HYPER TOUGH CLUTCH

An optimised clutch mechanism designed to remain securely engaged during demanding use and hard casting, improving reliability and durability.

MAGSEALED BALL BEARING

Uses Daiwa's magnetic Magsealed oil within the ball bearing to create a protective barrier against water and contaminants. This helps maintain smooth rotation while improving bearing durability and corrosion resistance.

ATD – Automatic Tournament Drag

Designed for a smoother initial drag response when a fish takes line, reducing sudden drag start-up. The system provides consistent drag pressure to help maintain control throughout the fight.

CRBB – Corrosion Resistant Ball Bearings

Shielded corrosion-resistant bearings designed to prevent salt crystals, sand and fine debris from entering the bearing. Daiwa states CRBB bearings provide 12 times greater corrosion resistance than conventional ball bearings.
