HYPERDRIVE DESIGN
Daiwa's next-generation baitcasting reel design concept, engineered to maintain high levels of smoothness, strength and durability over extended use. It combines four key technologies: HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR, HYPER DOUBLE SUPPORT, HYPER ARMED HOUSING and HYPER TOUGH CLUTCH.
HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR
A newly designed gear system engineered to deliver strong, smooth rotation with long-lasting performance. Optimised gear-tooth engagement helps maintain the reel's initial smoothness while providing excellent durability under load.
HYPER DOUBLE SUPPORT
Supports both ends of the pinion gear with ball bearings, helping reduce power loss through the drivetrain. This provides smoother, lighter and more powerful winding, particularly when the reel is under load.
HYPER ARMED HOUSING – FULL ALUMINIUM
A high-rigidity housing system designed to securely support the reel's internal components and maintain precise gear alignment. The 26 Ryoga uses aluminium alloy for the frame, gear-side plate and dial-side set plate, creating a strong full-metal housing.
HYPER TOUGH CLUTCH
A highly durable clutch system engineered for reliable, positive engagement through repeated use. Its advanced insulated construction greatly reduces salt-related sticking and corrosion, providing dependable operation in demanding saltwater environments. Daiwa Japan states that this design has reduced salt-related clutch-sticking repairs by 99% compared with its previous designs.
MAG-Z BOOST
The 150-size Ryoga uses Daiwa's MAG-Z BOOST braking system. It controls excessive spool rotation during the early stage of a cast with medium-to-heavy lures, helping stabilise lure flight while providing excellent casting distance.
ZERO SHAFT
A spool-support system that eliminates the conventional spool shaft, allowing the spool to be supported by ball bearings. This reduces rotational resistance for smoother spool rotation and improved casting performance.
ATD – Automatic Tournament Drag
Designed to provide smooth drag performance from the moment line begins to release, reducing the initial surge or "snatch" that can occur under sudden load and helping maintain consistent pressure during the fight
