Miravel has been refined in 2026 with a premium new cosmetic and the addition of technology inherited from higher-end reels, delivering an even lighter, smoother and more refined fishing experience.
Built around a lightweight CI4+ body and rotor, Miravel embraces Shimano's MagnumLite philosophy, creating a responsive reel that excels in active lure fishing applications. G Free Body shifts the reel's centre of gravity closer to the angler's hand for improved balance and reduced fatigue, while the addition of INFINITYDRIVE makes winding noticeably lighter under load.
The inclusion of ANTI-TWIST FIN, and a seamless ONE-PIECE BAIL improve line management for cleaner casting and fewer line issues, while HAGANE Gear, X-Ship, SilentDrive, AR-C Spool and CoreProtect continue to provide the smoothness, durability and reliability Shimano reels are renowned for.
Available in five models from 1000 through to C5000, Miravel delivers refinement in a lightweight package built for Australian lure anglers.

HAGANE:
Shimano’s reel design concept created to withstand continual use and demanding conditions. It combines toughness, durability and precision engineering for long-lasting performance.
MAGNUMLITE SERIES:
Uses a low-inertia rotor made from CI4+ carbon-reinforced material. The reduced rotor inertia makes the reel more responsive, improves sensitivity and requires less effort to start and stop the rotor.
HAGANE GEAR:
Shimano’s cold-forged gearing provides exceptional strength, precision and durability. The gear teeth are formed using Shimano’s 3D design and cold-forging technology to deliver long-lasting smoothness.
X SHIP:
Combines a large-diameter drive gear, optimally positioned pinion and drive gears, and a pinion gear supported by bearings at two points to provide lighter, more powerful winding under load.
INFINITYDRIVE:
Reduces friction between the pinion gear and main shaft, lowering rotational resistance and torque. This allows the reel to maintain powerful, lightweight winding even under heavy load.
SILENTDRIVE:
Shimano has refined the body and drive components to minimise minute rattles, gaps and unwanted movement, producing smoother and quieter reel rotation.
MAGNUMLITE ROTOR:
A lightweight, low-inertia rotor constructed using CI4+. The reduced rotational inertia improves winding sensitivity and lure control.
ANTI-TWIST FIN:
Flexible fins positioned near the line roller help suppress line slack. This reduces line dropping from the lower spool and helps prevent line wrapping and wind knots.
X PROTECT:
Combines water-repellent treatment with a labyrinth structure to help prevent water penetration while maintaining light rotation. Shimano uses it around the stopper bearing and line roller sections.
G FREE BODY:
Shifts the reel’s centre of gravity closer to the rod and angler’s hand. This improves balance, casting comfort and reduces fatigue during extended fishing sessions.
AR-C SPOOL:
Features a specially shaped spool ring that helps control line flow during casting. This reduces line trouble while promoting longer casting performance.
CI4+:
A lightweight, carbon-fibre-reinforced resin that provides increased rigidity and durability while reducing reel weight and size.
CROSS CARBON DRAG:
Provides smooth drag release combined with excellent durability.
ONE-PIECE BAIL:
The seamless bail allows line to travel smoothly to the line roller. Its design reduces friction and decreases the chance of tangles or line catching on the bail arm.
