The Reel
A reel for the masses – the brand-new 21 LEGALIS LT incorporating ZAION V construction. The heart of this redesign is Daiwa’s brand-new ZAION V material. Upgrading the LEGALIS LT significantly from the previous Carbon Light body, ZAION V is not only lighter but also much stronger, delivering a reel body with minimal flex and movement and increased durability especially in larger reel sizes.
ZAION V is equipped in both the body and the rotor, making the new LEGALIS not only much stronger, but also lighter than previous models.
As with all LT concept reels, Tough Digigear design has produced a gear which is stronger and smoother than previous versions and the new architecture ABS LC spool design and encased ATD Drag system provides unmatched performance.

Daiwa’s innovative bail design features a hollow tubular stainless steel bail that delivers maximum rigidity and strength with minimum weight. Featuring a smooth protrusion-free design and construction line easily slides unencumbered along the Air Bail towards the line roller for trouble free line control. - AIR-ROTOR
Lighter, stronger and more balanced than any rotor system that’s come before, ‘Air Rotor’ delivers a great leap forward in rotor design and function and delivers the ultimate line roller support. Made from Zaion and featuring a redesigned arch that disperses pressure to the lower section of the rotor to reduce stressing and flexing, the design is further enhanced with a hollowed out construction reducing weight, while increasing reel sensitivity and rotational balance. - ATD-DRAG
Daiwa’s Automatic Tournament Drag uses an improved drag grease that exhibits a low viscosity at rest, yet becomes more viscous immediately after drag start up. This reduces initial drag start-up inertia and combined with the structural changes of the ATD Drag System results in a smoother drag from the initial hook up. - PIN THROUGH HANDLE
An inline, pin-through handle assembly makes handle removal and installation simple and quick, with the handle inserted through the reel then secured into place with a threaded screw cap. - TOUGH DIGIGEAR

The Rod
eam Daiwa makes its debut into heavy-tackle saltwater rods with TD Saltwater. A newly developed series to accommodate the demand for high-quality and affordable saltwater rods.
The heart of TD Saltwater begins with Daiwa’s BRAIDING-X graphite technology, a graphite tape which is applied to the butt section of the blank. Wrapping in this style adds a level of stiffness and rigidity to the overall blank construction without the added weight and diameter of a whole extra layer of the HSD graphite cloth.
BRAIDING-X is used for the bottom half of the blank’s construction, delivering improved lifting power and ultimately higher strength.
TD Saltwater’s actions are tried and tested around the country, featuring jigging and boat-fishing specific models, a number of actions for fishing lures and soft plastics on reefs chasing snapper and pelagic species, and new actions specially designed for the growth in TaiRubber fishing, using lures like Daiwa's KOHGA to chase Snapper and other bottom-dwelling reef species.
