Easily achieved wet look gloss.

Features:
Elite 321 Brushing Polyurethane is based on the latest cyclo-aliphatic polyester technology, giving a light fast finish coat with long lasting gloss.

Elite 321 Brushing Polyurethane has been especially formulated to provide good flow-out and wet-edge characteristics, balanced with rapid dry-to-touch - making re-paint projects on the hardstand or on the water a practical proposition.

Elite 321 Brushing Polyurethane is recommended for use on all topsides, decks, interiors and fittings requiring a premium quality brush-applied finish.

Elite 321 Brushing Polyurethane will also provide excellent performance in areas such as showers, heads and galleys.

Limitations of Use:

Elite 321 Brushing Polyurethane is available in a limited but popular range of yacht finish "Whites". It is recommended that two coats be applied to achieve full substrate obliteration and maximum ‘wet-look'.
Light sanding between coats, using 380 grit Wet-Or-Dry (or similar), is strongly recommended if re-coating is carried out in excess of 24 hours of application of the prior coat.

Advantages:
Specifically developed for manual (brush or roller) application
Excellent cosmetic properties
Easily achieved wet look gloss
Available in the three most popular yacht finish ‘whites'
Excellent chemical resistance - colour tonal pigments may be affected to varying degrees. Note: This high degree of chemical resistance dictates the need for careful observation of recoat times and / or intercoat preparation where multiple coats are applied. Refer to "Limitations of use" and "Dry Time - Self Recoat"
Excellent durability
High flexibility and toughness
Excellent retention of cosmetic properties due to high UV resistance
Lead and chromate free

SURFACE PREPERATION:

Refer to the relevant Two Component Systems Guide.
All surfaces should be clean, dry and free from all contaminates.

Use Elite 321 Brushing Polyurethane over sanded No.3 Epoxy Primer Undercoat or No.4 Epoxy Primer Sealer. May also be used directly over suitably prepared sound and compatible existing paint systems.

Refer also to No.3 Epoxy Primer Undercoat "Application Guide" for further information on sanding and intercoat application times.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

Mixing:
Elite 321 Brushing Polyurethane is a two component product supplied in 1 litre ‘pop-top' kits which contain the correct (3:1 v/v) ratio of ingredients. The entire contents of each container must be mixed together. Thoroughly mix Part A first to obtain a smooth,
homogeneous condition. After mixing Part A, add Part B slowly with continued agitation. Allow an induction time of 15 minutes before application. The pot life of the mixed material at 25oC is 5 hours unthinned, but is increased proportionately as thinner levels are increased. Higher temperatures will reduce the working life of the coating; lower temperatures will increase it.
Thinning:
For brush application thinning with U22 Thinner at the rate of 5% to 10% will be required. The level of thinning required will depend mainly on material, air and substrate temperatures. The best means of establishing thinner requirement is to use a Ford 4 Cup and adjust the viscosity to 30 seconds. This method can be used with the paint
material at any temperature although ideally the paint should be conditioned between 15°C and 25°C.
Clean-up:
Use U22 or U20 Thinner

Application:
Elite 321 Brushing Polyurethane is especially developed for, and best applied by roller and brush combination. After mixing and induction thin the paint to the desired viscosity (see "Thinning" opposite). The paint should roll on easily and exhibit good flow characteristics - without any runs at normal application thicknesses. If large areas are to be painted a two man team is recommended - one rolling, the other brushing out and tipping off. A Rol-Rite 3/8" Nap Smooth Surface solvent resistant sleeve and Linzer Nylon/Polyester professional grade brush have been found to be an excellent combination for this work. Under ‘normal' conditions the wet-edge will hold for 3 to 5 minutes so rolling and subsequent brushing should be restricted to areas manageable in that time.
Elite 321 Brushing Polyurethane may also be applied by spray. If spraying, thin approximately 25% with U20 Thinner (~ 16 seconds Ford 4 Cup).

Suggested spray equipment is: Air Spray Graco - Delta
